ProRail Personalized Vacancies

Recruitment concept ProRail Careers

In the race for talent how might we attract the best talent to keep Dutch railway network on track?

The Challenge

ProRail is responsible for maintenance and extension of the national railway network in The Netherlands. Every year more than 1.000 vacancies are listed on the recruimtent website with over 10.000 applicants applying. In today’s tight labour market finding talent for unique positions is a challenge.

Every job seeker values a new job differently. Some are triggered by primary employment conditions such as salary whilst others are more focused on team culture, potential to learn and growth perspective. The one size fits everybody setup of job descriptions seems obsolete in today’s digital world of hyperpersonalised digital experiences.

The Concept

Instead of a straightforward vacancy listing with search engine and filters a conversational flow was devised in which potential applications are guided through a series of questions regarding their field of expertise, location, availability and on what they value in an organization and a job the most. Based on the answers a shortlist of potential vacancies is presented.

Each vacancy is personalized and converted in a short intro video based on the answers provided. For those who value team culture and personal growth more than primary employment conditions the job description is personalized with the content on the topics valued most. This way the vacancies on the recruitment website are catered more to the personal preferences of job seekers which increases the chances of qualitative applicants applying that truly fit ProRail.

The Result

A pitch winning concept that offers a refreshing take on job listings to gain a competitive advantage in the attention economy and the race for talent.

Taking the entire applicant journey into perspective from social media trigger to application and follow-up.

The concept is currently under development.
